Soil science is the study of soil. It covers the study of soil formation, soil properties, and soil properties in relation to the use and management of soils. It is sometimes also referred to as pedology.

These studies stress on the relationships between plants, animals and bacteria and their environment. It is a branch of agricultural science that studies the chemical compositions and reactions involved in the production, protection, and use of crops and livestock.
