Weicheng Wu, PhD in Geography from the University of Paris I (Pantheon-Sorbonne) and international expert in geospatial technology, is full-time professor at the Key Lab of Digital Land & Resources and Faculty of Earth Sciences, East China University of Technology. Dr Wu has gained 32 years of professional experiences, in which he contributed 21 years to research in the European universities (France, Belgium and Italy) and international organization, ICARDA. Widely distributed in Central, Southern and Western Asia, Africa, Mediterranean region and China, his research projects are mainly focused on land resource and suitability mapping, biomass and carbon emission analysis, food insecurity analysis, natural disaster monitoring and early warning, and sustainable development, etc. He acts as Chair of the International Conference on Geo-Information Technology and Its Applications (ICGITA2019), and has played a key role as scientific committee member and delivered keynotes in a number of international symposia. He serves as reviewer for tens of top international journals in remote sensing, environment and geography, and has more than 80 publications.
