Title : Bio-inputs as innovative solutions for the sustainable development of the pharmaceutical industry
Abstract:
Medicinal and aromatic plants as well as certain agro-food plants represent an inexhaustible source of bioactive molecules of industrial interest. However, the low biomass of plant species as well as their low contents of allelochemical compounds remain linked to plant genetic resources and are limited by the environmental conditions threatened by biotic and abiotic stresses. In this context, it would be wise to seek natural solutions to develop their cultivation in Algeria, with a view to optimizing their yield in plant biomass and active ingredients as well as their biological potential, for their sustainable development in the pharmaceutical sector. Indeed, the use of certain agricultural bio-inputs on a few crops has made it possible to improve biomass production and increase the yield and the pharmaceutical potential of certain bioactive molecules valued by industry.
