Biography:
Iván Javier Pastrana Vargas is an agronomist with a Master's degree in Agronomic Sciences and a Ph.D. candidate in Agricultural Sciences. A full-time professor at the Universidad de Córdoba (Colombia), he has over 18 years of research experience in plant breeding and plant biotechnology in crops such as sweet potato, cotton, cowpea, caña flecha, and cannabis. He has co-authored two (2) books, two (2) book chapters, published more than 25 indexed scientific articles with over 600 academic citations—and participated in the registration of 12 crop varieties with the Colombian Agricultural Institute (ICA).
