Biography:
Dr.U.Bagavathi Ammal currently working as Professor and Head, Department of Soil Science and Agricultural Chemistry, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru College and Research Institute, Karaikal, UT of Puducherry. She did her UG, PG and Ph.D at Tamilnadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore. She has 23 years of teaching and research experience. She has guided 10 M.Sc. (Ag.) students and served as advisory committee member for many students of allied disciplines. She as the Principal Investigator of Tank Silt project funded by M/S.Hartford foundation, AICRP-STCR scheme funded by ICAR. She has been awarded with Jawaharlal Nehru award (2000) by ICAR, Silver Jubilee award (2000) by FAI, Best Ph.D thesis award (2000) by Madras Agriculture Students Union , Dr.G.V.Kothandaraman award (2000) , Dr.A.N.Puri Prize(2000) and also was the recipient of CSIR-SRF for Ph.D in 1996. She has published more than 100 research articles, conference and seminar papers.
